BMX racing - November 5, 2011

We stopped by Clay and Kristen's house for a quick visit and got invited to watch their first BMX bike races in Utah.  They set up an indoor track every-other-weekend at the Salt Lake County Equestrian Park in South Jordan.

Even being indoors, it was chilly!  Glad Lincoln was wearing some fuzzy pajamas.  Emma and Aspen took turns holding Lincoln.

And of course, they raced!

Emma took 3rd in her finals.

Aspen crashed, but got up and finished her finals - even crashing, she wasn't last!

Clay took 1st in his finals and moved up from the Novice Class to the Intermediate Class!  Yay!  Hard to tell, but that is Clay and family out by the announcer in the middle of the track with his promotion being announced!

Kristen took some practice rides, but saved her first Utah race for another weekend.

Thanks for inviting us, it was fun!

(Next time, James wants to get off the bench and borrow a bike and do some practice laps!)

Practicing... November 5, 2011

James had Lincoln balanced against the couch arm to practice - another version of tummy time I suppose.  So I took a dozen pictures (and only posted 5)!

I just noticed how "old man" Lincolns hair is right now.  His head has grown so fast that his hair isn't as thick as it was when he was born, but the back/top still sticks out every which way.  And it is a lighter color than I thought it would be.  His eyes are still a dark "denim" blue, but maybe they're lightening up a little.

They're both cute!

Baby Carrier - November 4, 2011

One of my first baby purchases was a full-size "Kid Backpack" for hiking.  Lincoln won't be big enough for it until summer and it isn't very practical in the house.  So we decided to get a smaller baby carrier.  We went to Babys R Us and tried out all the different models.  This is the one we chose.

We don't get to use it very often.  It is easier to just wrap him in a blanket when I run to the mailbox.  And around the house, I prefer a less complicated sling.  Lincoln seems to like this carrier though - he usually falls asleep while we're adventuring.

And now that the weather is cold, we load up the baby and then throw on a great big fleece jacket and zip Lincoln inside.

Now we just need to remember it when we head out the door.

Cousins in Utah - November 1, 2011

Kristen, Clay, Emma and Aspen moved to Utah!!!  Clay came a week ahead of time with the U-haul and started work at Backcountry.com (yay!  Bro-code!).  And today, the girls arrived.  Welcome!

Happy Halloween! - October 31, 2011

Baby Santa - hat from Opa's trip to Las Vegas, jacket and pants from DI and altered by Mommy, belt crocheted by Mommy, socks from Grandma and Grandpa McCalvy.  We rocked the ward Halloween party!

Trick or Treat Pajamas - hand-me-downs from someone.  He wore these every night and a couple days leading up to Halloween.

With the matching hat - James called it the Baby Convict outfit.

My First Halloween Onesie - from Jon and Jenny Howell - Mommy had to work late on Halloween, so this is what Lincoln wore to 'help' with the billing.

Lawn decorations James saw in Clay and Kristen's new neighborhood!  Awesome!

Hanging out with Daddy! - October 31, 2011

My first official weekday of work is James' first official day of "Daddy Day Care".  I resisted the temptation to call James every five minutes to see what my guys were up to (I only called once all morning)!  Luckily, I did get a variety of pictures of Lincoln and Daddy's first outing alone.  They went to a ski shop. Fun!
