Sierra's Blessing Day - October 7, 2018

From Sierra's blessing.

Three Generations - Dick and Sharon McCalvy, James, Jessi and Sierra McCalvy, Gil and Kathy Simpson

Family of Five - Lincoln is 7. Meta is 3 (almost 4). Sierra is 12 days old.

Oma made the dress and slip and hair band. The dress is made using fabric out of my wedding gown. James and Jessi will celebrate our 12th Anniversary in three days (Oct 10th). Thank you so much Oma!!!

Meta's blessing day - January 18, 2015

Meta's blessing in Eagle, Idaho. James did the blessing. Both Grandpa's, lots of Uncles, including Uncle Roger Shuman were in the blessing circle. I have to track down more pictures because Great Grandma Price was here and of course, lots of Simpsons. Where are those pictures?

I love the story behind Meta's blessing dress. When Oma and Opa were living in Europe with little boy Jed, they were expecting another baby. She was born premature, died and was buried in the Netherlands. My parents named her Meta Margaret and hope to raise her in the hereafter. While visiting Luxumburg prior to having me, my parents found this beautiful white dress. Oma cried because of the baby who would never wear such a beautiful dress. Opa found an excuse to go back to the store at another time buy it as a surprise for Oma.

I was blessed in it, in the Netherlands. Then Aunt Kim and Aunt Kristen were both blessed in it, in Idaho. As the oldest living daughter, I inherited the dress.  I chose to have our baby Meta blessed in the gown and someday, as my oldest daughter, it will be Meta's to use or not, as she chooses.

Notice the pretty white tatted booties?  Those were given to us prior to Lincoln's baby blessing by Grandma McCalvy. They'll be Lincoln's, but I plan on having all my babies wear them at their baby blessings.

Gage's baby blessing - December 31, 2011

New Year's Eve. I have to work until 9 tonight for month end / year end, so I am grateful we got to have an event to celebrate with family.  My cousins, Alan and Michelle, blessed their son, Gage. They booked their church and planned a soup buffet for afterwards.

The under one crowd. Kelley and Phoenix (9 mo). Jessi and Lincoln (3 mo). Michelle and Gage (2 mo). Ariana (due June 2012)

James and Lincoln disappeared during the lunchtime visiting. I found them playing Around The World with Chad.

Chad won.

Phoenix's baby blessing - November 20, 2011

My cousins, Chad and Kelley Price, adopted their son, Phoenix on November 1st.  Today, they had his baby blessing at Uncle Roger and Aunt Lynnette's house.  It was wonderful to see so much family together.  There is always much food and much visiting.  And when James is there, much rough housing.

I didn't get a picture of Phoenix. Oops.  But this is Gage. Alan and Michelle's little boy is the second-cousin just younger than Lincoln.

Blessing Day - October 9, 2011

Lincoln is ONE MONTH OLD!!

We are very blessed that so much family was able to travel to participate in Lincoln's blessing.  James blessed him in our ward and we had a picnic at Hatch Park afterwards.  Thank you, thank you to everyone who was able to come and support us and our small son.  Everyone else... we missed you!  Hope to see you soon.

Lincoln just met my dad today - Hi Opa!  Nice to meet you!

Poor tired baby with the sun in his eyes.  He is such a good boy!

At the park

Cousins - Rachel Simpson (Jul 8), Lincoln McCalvy (Sep 9) and Grace Monson (Aug 3).

Getting ready for the big day - Daddy did Lincoln's hair!  Aren't my guys so good looking!

I enjoyed putting Lincoln's blessing outfit together.  He is wearing a white onesie that I was given by Aunt Lynnette at my baby shower in July.  She gave us several and they were signed by family members.  This one has only one decoration - a heart and "G + G" written on the left chest - above Lincoln's heart.  So the onesie has links to Lincoln's great aunt and great grandparents. I crocheted the jacket.  Oma Simpson made the pants.  And the handmade tatted booties are a gift from Grandma McCalvy.  So fun that I was able to put together an outfit with so many ties to family.  I hope that our boy always knows how much he is loved by all his family.

We are so blessed and grateful for our families.  Grateful for the gospel and for eternal families.  Grateful for the opportunity to bless Lincoln and feel the support and power of so many priesthood holders. We appreciate your good example to our son.

McCalvys! And Baby Grace - October 02, 2011

A fabulous busy day!  Today Lincoln got to meet his Grandma and Grandpa McCalvy and Aunti Kathleen.  So lucky that the McCalvys are able to come down for a two week visit.  We plan to do some mission prep shopping for Hermana McCalvy (Nashville Tennessee Spanish speaking!) and do a lot of spoiling of the newest McCalvy.  Lucky!
Here's Grandma McCalvy at the airport.  We were standing at the baggage claim, waiting to see if Grandpa McCalvy's bag of frozen fish were going to show up on the carousel or not. (It never did).

And Aunti Kathleen and Grandpa McCalvy.

James, Lincoln and I left the travellers at home to watch conference (and get a nap) for a bit while we drove to Ogden.  Jordan and Danielle Monson blessed their youngest - Grace - between conference sessions at Aunt Lynnette and Uncle Rogers house.  So Lincoln got to meet a lot of family today.  James likes to call it the SHOCK AND AWE method of family introduction.   Congrats Monsons!  She's adorable.

Amazing how much difference 2 months can make!  Will Lincoln ever be that big?

Happy Independance Day! - July 4, 2010

July 3rd was the celebration in North Salt Lake - since July 4th is a Sunday.  We went to our Ward Breakfast on Saturday morning - my friend Diana is the head of the Activities Committee, so she was working on set-up and her husband needed some muscles for help.  So we got woken up early to go help set up the breakfast.  James even helped flip pancakes.  I just played at the park with the small ones from my nursery class.  We skipped out on going anyplace to watch the fireworks and watched them from a distance instead.  It was a very mellow holiday.  Except that I stayed up late after the fireworks to make a blueberry apple crisp for the post-blessing luncheon on the 4th.

On Sunday, we had been invited to Logan to witness the blessing of my new little 'cousin'.  We still went to our ward (I had to give the lesson to the nursery class.  It was essentially about loving one another.  The main story was the Good Samaritan, but the coloring page was all about diversity). and then left as soon as possible afterwards.  So we were late to their chapel and missed the blessing, but we stayed for lunch and visiting anyway!

Tammy, Brett, and Kyrie Price - July 4, 2010 in Logan, UT- blessing day!

The Glen Price Family - Tammy Kyrie and Brett, Braeden Erin Jett JB and Kyan, Keri and Marcus, Ariana and Craig, Sydney Dallas Scott Jaxson Hunter and Sarah, Kelley and Chad, Nancy Glen and Maddox, Michelle and Alan.

The 007 posse - Friend, Friend, Jordan, James, Craig, Scott and Maddox, Alan, JB, Glen, Chad and Brett

On our way home, we decided to drive up by Bear Lake to look over the view.  It definitely wasn't on the direct way home, but it was a different way home.  We stopped in Randolph, UT to peek in the window of the Wilford Woodruff Home:

An antelope - he crossed the road right in front of us.  His two lady friends stayed on the side and crossed after we left.

We followed highway 39 past Monte Cristo campground and tons of 4-wheeler and snowmobile trails and ended up driving past Pineview Reservoir and Snow Basin before wandering our way back home.

Happy Independence Day!
