Blessing Day - October 9, 2011

Lincoln is ONE MONTH OLD!!

We are very blessed that so much family was able to travel to participate in Lincoln's blessing.  James blessed him in our ward and we had a picnic at Hatch Park afterwards.  Thank you, thank you to everyone who was able to come and support us and our small son.  Everyone else... we missed you!  Hope to see you soon.

Lincoln just met my dad today - Hi Opa!  Nice to meet you!

Poor tired baby with the sun in his eyes.  He is such a good boy!

Cousins - Rachel Simpson (Jul 8), Lincoln McCalvy (Sep 9) and Grace Monson (Aug 3).

Getting ready for the big day - Daddy did Lincoln's hair!  Aren't my guys so good looking!

I enjoyed putting Lincoln's blessing outfit together.  He is wearing a white onesie that I was given by Aunt Lynnette at my baby shower in July.  She gave us several and they were signed by family members.  This one has only one decoration - a heart and "G + G" written on the left chest - above Lincoln's heart.  So the onesie has links to Lincoln's great aunt and great grandparents. I crocheted the jacket.  Oma Simpson made the pants.  And the handmade tatted booties are a gift from Grandma McCalvy.  So fun that I was able to put together an outfit with so many ties to family.  I hope that our boy always knows how much he is loved by all his family.

We are so blessed and grateful for our families.  Grateful for the gospel and for eternal families.  Grateful for the opportunity to bless Lincoln and feel the support and power of so many priesthood holders. We appreciate your good example to our son.
