Meta's blessing day - January 18, 2015

Meta's blessing in Eagle, Idaho. James did the blessing. Both Grandpa's, lots of Uncles, including Uncle Roger Shuman were in the blessing circle. I have to track down more pictures because Great Grandma Price was here and of course, lots of Simpsons. Where are those pictures?

I love the story behind Meta's blessing dress. When Oma and Opa were living in Europe with little boy Jed, they were expecting another baby. She was born premature, died and was buried in the Netherlands. My parents named her Meta Margaret and hope to raise her in the hereafter. While visiting Luxumburg prior to having me, my parents found this beautiful white dress. Oma cried because of the baby who would never wear such a beautiful dress. Opa found an excuse to go back to the store at another time buy it as a surprise for Oma.

I was blessed in it, in the Netherlands. Then Aunt Kim and Aunt Kristen were both blessed in it, in Idaho. As the oldest living daughter, I inherited the dress.  I chose to have our baby Meta blessed in the gown and someday, as my oldest daughter, it will be Meta's to use or not, as she chooses.

Notice the pretty white tatted booties?  Those were given to us prior to Lincoln's baby blessing by Grandma McCalvy. They'll be Lincoln's, but I plan on having all my babies wear them at their baby blessings.

Attempting to get a family photo - January 5, 2015

I was determined to get a family photo to send out with our belated baby announcements and Christmas Cards.  The family photo at Haystack Overlook turned out great, but I wanted to get one with the glacier in the background.

A few days later, we met Grandma at the airport and drove to a nice spot on the highway.  The background was perfect, but the sun was too bright and Lincoln was squinting, Meta was too cold and crying.  Oh well.

We used the Haystack trail photos.

Adventures with Oma - November 21-30, 2014

Oma arrived on Meta's birth day. I was stuck in the hospital with Meta for a couple days, but we were released and able to fly home to Cordova before Thanksgiving
.

Meta was so, so good on the flight. It was very full and only Lincoln and James got seats together.  Oma was in the center seat in the row behind Meta and me. After I fed Meta, I handed her back to Oma for some snuggles and she was asleep for the rest of the flight.

I'm HUNGRY!

We only got Oma for a week, so we had to have some adventures. We drove out the road to explore and Oma, James and Lincoln got out of the car to see what they could see. Meta and I stayed in the warm car.

If you look close, at the top of the snowfield along the river, you can see James and Lincoln. Cold and clear for Thanksgiving.

Way too soon, Oma's visit is over. We had a long wait for Oma's airplane, and Meta and Lincoln both fell asleep in the airport. 3 generation photo. Bye Oma! Come again!
