Back to Work - October 29, 2011

I was planning to go back to work part-time starting on Halloween.  Then my co-worker's dad died and she needed time off for funeral planning and everything else that goes with it.  So I started work on Saturday instead of Monday.  And because it was a bit of an emergency (to keep the bills from piling up before the end-of-the-month), and a weekend, and I have an office with a door that I could keep closed, I had permission to bring my baby in with me.

Lincoln's first day at work.

Sessions Mountain Trail - October 28, 2011

Before the snow really sets in, we decided to go for a hike up the Sessions Mountain Trail.  The trailhead is across the street from the Bountiful Temple.  I've hiked up this trail for 30 minutes or so on a couple of occasions, but today we went farther than I have before.  This 'campsite' along the trail was one of the new sights.

Lincoln slept through most of it.

We forgot the baby carrier, so James carried him in-arms most of the time.  He's not too heavy. Yet.

Winter - October 26, 2011

Here is proof that Mountain bike season is over.  They are blowing snow!  This is at Solitude.  We drove up Big Cottonwood Canyon before school today to pick up James' pass at Brighton.

Now we just need to do a little snow dance!

Shout outs from Lincoln! - October 25, 2011

These are three short videos of Lincoln saying "Hi!"

Hi Oma and Opa! (:53 sec)

Hi Grandma and Grandpa and Aunti Kathleen! (:31 sec)

Hi Daddy! (:22 sec)

Blog address (in case there isn't a link in the email): jessijamesgang.blogspot.com
PS: My grandparents are Grandma and Granddad Price and Oma and Opa Simpson. (My parents spent time in Holland and the Dutch words for grandma and grandpa are oma and opa.) Then, when Jed and Maria were expecting Tucker, it was easy to bestow "Oma and Opa" onto my own parents and the in-laws could be Grandma and Grandpa (or whatever else they would like to be).  To Lincoln ... Oma and Opa are Gil and Kathy Simpson and Grandma and Grandpa are Dick and Sharon McCalvy. Daddy, of course, is James and I get to be Mommy (and videographer).

I know we've had visitors that we don't have pictures of... like Uncle Gord and Aunt Gaylynne came and we were so busy chatting that I completely forgot to take their picture with Lincoln.  And Craig and Aunt Nancy came with Uncle Glen, but I didn't get their pictures either. And Deven was with his family on their quick trips through Utah, but I didn't get his picture. Whooops.

We need to introduce Lincoln to all the Jed Simpsons and to Beth and Myke and Nick and Oma-Great Simpson.  I can't wait!

Mountain Biking - October 22, 2011

James hasn't done as much mountain biking this year as he would like - primarily because he spent all summer away from his bike.  But today, he went riding at Park City Mountain Resort.  And it is beautiful in the fall!

Here is a series of pictures with a moose.  James watched it (from a safe distance) for quite a while.  The cardboard box in these pictures makes me laugh.  It is a HUGE box.  Makes me think the poor homeless moose was just looking for a place to stay.

A view of Park City from the resort.

Mountain bike season is just about over... Can't wait until next summer!  Oh, well, maybe he can.  It is just about ski season!
