I had to beg for a couple months - as soon as Craig & Ariana got engaged and announced their wedding date to the family... I begged all the family in Idaho to come to Utah for their wedding. And it worked! My mom came to spend a long weekend and we enjoyed the wedding and parties and got to be tourists in Salt Lake City.
Thursday: Mom flew in just at the end of my work week. And she brought me mail from Carter!

(Carter: THANK YOU for my special post card. I am really impressed with your drawing and writing your own name!)

Friday: Gateway for lunch at McGrath's Fish House. A little clothes shopping. A little wedding gift shopping. And ran into Uncle David, David & Kim & Logan just outside the Barnes & Noble on our way back to the car - couldn't have planned that if we tried! We stopped in the old train depot on our way out, I love the murals and stained glass windows.

After James got off work, we went to the Bountiful Temple for a session. Then drove up to Ogden for the family pre-wedding dinner. Yum!

After wedding pictures and the Ogden Veterans Day parade, we stopped at Deseret Book and Wal-Mart and the stump. Visited at G&G's house and enjoyed a huge dinner at Maddox Steak House in Brigham City. Really enjoyed the reception and visiting with all the family.

Saturday: the morning was a bit hectic (that's another post), but the wedding was beautiful. And the temple grounds were pretty unique!

Sunday: we slept in and that was heavenly. We almost made it to church on time - the closest we've been yet! Mom helped in the nursery (thank you!) & I gave a lesson about being thankful for the bodies Heavenly Father has given us. I didn't know I could sing "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" so quickly! We went to U.Doug & A.Barbs for dinner in Santaquin. They've got a beautiful home & the food was excellent! Thank you!
Monday: James had to work. Mom & I went exploring around temple square. We spent an hour at the Church History Library. We watched the Joseph Smith movie at the Joseph Smith Memorial - I still get teary-eyed and I've seen it before! We had lunch (the Swiss potato soup was really good, and of course, the rolls!) at the Lion House. We explored the Salt Lake City public Library - where we met up with James!
James grilled salmon and halibut for our dinner - yum! Then we loaded the luggage in the car and dropped into some craft stores before Mom's flight.
How can a long weekend be so short and go by so quickly!?! Mom - thank you for coming to Utah and spending some time with me. I NEEDED that and I love you!
