It is a quick hike, less than an hour round-trip. Unfortunately some grafitti and lots of fences to keep people on the main trails. This is the view of downtown - it is so hard to imagine an 'empty' valley that had yet to be cultivated. And now it is completely filled with buildings and trees and streets.
The marker at the top of Ensign Peak. There used to be a flagpole, but vandals pulled it down, so it is now on the State Capital property. I need to explore that too!
May 27, 2011 - There has been pipeline construction in the area, and for the last few days this huge helicopter has been operating in the foothills above North Salt Lake.
I went for a quick hike on the Sessions Mountain Trail. The trailhead is near the Bountiful Temple and is going to be perfect for summer hikes. Right along a stream with lots of trees. And today, it includes a deer. I only got to hike for about 15 minutes along the trail before I came to a stream crossing that was too busy and too rushing to cross. Still a 30 minute, pretty wander was a great way to get in my exercise today.
