Video tour of our next apartment (under prep for painting all the walls) (1:53)
===
Standing at the front door, living room to the right and (carpeted) dining area to the left. Notice the heating vents in the floor.
===
Kitchen, with the lovely dark cabinets, is enclosed with a wall. But the appliances are newer than our current appliances. We checked the fridge. So glad that the salad dressing won't be falling out onto my toes every couple of days!
===
Then the hallway. Swamp cooler... We know how that works!
===
The furnace/water heater/laundry room is behind the kitchen. Looks like some extra storage potential with the shelves along the walls. Let's hope the plugs for the dryer are the same.
===
Central heat with programmable thermostat. That's nice. Now I won't forget to turn down the heat at night.
===
Bathroom - about the same size as our current bathroom, but less drawers in the vanity and that mirror cabinet makes me laugh. We hope that it drains better than our current tub. The showerhead looks tall enough, but not certain. Did you see me wave at you?
===
Just outside the bathroom is a tall, narrow linen closet. Should be enough storage for our linens, but not much else.
===
Then the master bedroom with walk-in closet. There is a little hanger closet to the left (for ski gear? for coats? because there isn't a coat closet anywhere else) and a larger hanger closet to the right. Should be able to put a bit more storage in that closet! If only we can corral our shoes!
===
The baby's room/guest room is next (notice the new windows? All the windows are new - hope that helps with heating/cooling). Little closet, but should be enough room for the crib and futon and rocking chair and changing table and to store most of his grow-into-them clothes. So much stuff for such a small boy.
===
Last is the living room. Pretty decent size, just feels small because we're used to high ceilings and a fireplace in the corner. Oh well, lack of fireplace will also help with the gas bills in the winter! The guy trying to duck out of the video is Bob. He's the landlord/maintenance guy. He seems very nice. Talked aviation with James for quite a while. And Lincoln is 3 months old today. Happy 3 month birthday Little Bandito!
===
Not shown is the storage closet out by the covered parking. Looks big enough to store the bikes and all the camping gear. There is also a common 'porch' between the apartment doors with some wicker furnature that is available to all residents. The dumpster is out in front of the apartment and the mailbox is in the downstairs 'porch'. Our apartment is upstairs. There is not a playground or pool or anything (only two buildings in the complex), but the library is next door on the same side of the street and the Junior High is also close by with a track and tennis courts. Work/school is now 14 miles away from home, but Kristen's place is only about 5 miles away. Yay!

There is your pre-move-in tour. We get the keys on December 15th. That gives us until Christmas to move all our stuff over to the new place. Then until New Years Eve to finish cleaning up the NSL place. We'll miss all the extra closets and the very friendly ward.
