Willow Lake - June 3, 2012

Lincoln DID NOT sleep at all during church today.  He was busy, busy, busy.  He wasn't loud or cranky or fussy; he just wanted to explore.  He was charming to our neighbors and I don't think we disturbed too many people.  But by the time church was over, Lincoln had been awake for four-plus hours and had missed at least one usual nap.  So we went for a Sunday drive. We took I-80 to Park City, wandered down Main Street and up Guardsman's Pass to Brighton. When Lincoln woke up, we went for a hike in Big Cottonwood Canyon to Willow Lake.

James and Lincoln had attempted Willow Lake last month.  But it was cool and Lincoln got cranky before they reached the lake.  So James stopped short and took Fussy-Pants back to the car where they could warm up and have a bottle.

No Fussy-Pants today.  He was well rested and loved looking around from his perch on James' back. We saw ground squirrels and ducks and even an illegal dog. (Illegal only because Big Cottonwood Canyon is a watershed area for Salt Lake and dogs are prohibited.  A nice group of older hikers with foreign accents had a beautiful german shepard with them.)

Willow Lake (there are a LOT of willows around the lake.  There was only a view of the lake from one side because the willows are so thick around most of the lake.)

Is the water cold, Lincoln?

James and Lincoln - what can they be discussing?

I love Sundays.
