On Wednesday night, I thought he was feeling better. He woke up in the middle of the night and ate a bowl of cereal.
But then didn't seem as perky over the next couple days. Even though he went to play at Lydia's on Thursday and Friday.
On Saturday, we had another day at home together and I was hopeful that he'd be feeling better soon. But Linc was eating less and less, drinking less and less and sleeping more and more. When he was awake, he just wanted to sit in your lap and watch movies.
Saturday night, we took Linc to Cordova Community Medical Center, in hopes that they'd send us right home again. Instead, the doctor diagnosed pneumonia and admitted him. This paper cup has an oxygen tube attached, we're attempting to improve Linc's oxygenation by stealth.
The kitchen did everything they could think of to tempt Lincoln into eating.
We did a lot of the same things that we were doing at home, sleeping and watching movies. But now he also got antibiotics, breathing treatments and oxygen too.
Finally, Lincoln had an IV placed to help his little body recover. And he got in some good naps.
And ate a couple graham crackers.
And watched Supers, again.
On Monday night, we knew Lincoln was starting to feel better. He was asking to leave. So Daddy took him on a few laps around the hospital.
But the doctor and nurses wanted to be sure he was better and that he would be able to get enough oxygen on his own. So we stayed another night (Monday night was his 3rd night in the hospital). This time Linc got acquainted with the nasal canula and even a pediatric oxygen mask.
And on Tuesday morning, during his nap, I took off the oxygen and just let him sleep. See that "100" - that was without any supplemental oxygen and he'd been sleeping (especially when sick, oxygen levels drop while sleeping) for awhile. So excited to see that number stick around!
Unhooked from the oxygen monitor (toe), the IV (elbow) and the oxygen (face), and playing with a "Get Well" balloon from the Hambergers. We're going home today! (Tuesday)
Home again and with a bit more of an appetite. That's good Lincoln, because Thanksgiving is on Thursday. We are super grateful that you're feeling better!
