I wanted to take Lincoln to a program at the library, but Meta was napping. At the last minute I scooped her up and we jumped in the car. I even left my phone and didn't go back for it because it was going to be a quick outing. In such a hurry, I didn't notice the front driver's side tire was flat. I stopped in the closest parking lot and prepared to change the tire.
Blessing 1. It was only sputtering occasional raindrops, not even enough to call it sprinkling.
Blessing 2. My Dad taught me how to change a tire, so I am perfectly capable to get the job done (even if jack placement makes me nervous).
Blessing 3. Meta was content in her car seat and Linc wanted to help.
Blessing 4. As I was beginning to jack the car up, a very nice man stopped and offered his help. When he had difficulty removing the flat, a guy walking by also stopped and they finally figured it out. It would have been really, really hard for me to do it alone. Thank you and blessings to those men.
Blessing 5. The tire place was 2 blocks from the library. So even though they said an hour wait and it took 2 1/2 hours to fit my tire in, we were able to walk in the not-quite-sprinkling weather to the library and wait in a very comfortable environment.
Blessing 6. We got back before they took the car in, but the tire repair place had popcorn and hot chocolate.
Blessing 7. Even though Meta spilled Lincoln's water and I had to keep her from climbing the stairs and all the tires, she was pretty content to explore the waiting area. Lincoln checked out a library book that we read together and he's old enough that he can use the water cooler without draining it. So the time we did spend at the tire place was mostly pleasant.
Blessing 8. They must've felt bad about the long wait because they didn't charge me for the tire repair. Thank you!
