Bend Statues and Karate Kid - March 6, 2018

In Bend, there are statues in the center of most round-abouts and other places. Like this horses sculpture made out of reclaimed metals (shovels, golf clubs, a sewing machine, spoons, etc.) near the river.

We wandered along the Deschutes River and watched ducks, threw rocks and checked the water temperature.  One bank is sunny and only has patches of snow or mud in the shade. The other bank still has snow patches and slush/ice on the water.

In the summertime, Farewell Bend Park is the put in for floating the Deschutes River through town. It is mostly very flat, but there is a whitewater section for a bit of fun before the takeout.

James carried both barefoot kids and got the car unlocked and Linc's door open. All I had to do was get Meta buckled once she bounced across the seat to her car seat.
