Labor Day Weekend - Yellowstone - September 1-3, 2007

We used the long weekend to do a little more exploring and spend some time at Yellowstone National Park. We learned that people will stop for every kind of animal - including a bald eagle in a tree. We learned that you must find your camping space in the morning or you won't be able to find one later. We learned that there is a sacrament meeting held at 7 p.m. at Yellowstone Lodge. We learned that buffalo will take up the road for as long as they want. We had a great time!
(The arch says: "For the benefit and enjoyment of the people" at the top. On the left "Yellowstone National Park" and on the right, "Created by act of congress March 1, 1872". The arch is the North Entrance to the park from Montana.)
Of course, the only elk we saw happened to be after dark. We saw this bull, a cow & calf.
James at Old Faithful.
One of the geological wonders of the park.
